Is it 16?
by Jrjw inhi can anyone tell me if it's true the society says parents must take their child to meetings until they're 16 even if they don't want to?
my ex is being a pain about me not forcing my 12 year old to be a witness.
he doesn't know i'm becoming inactive at moment so i have to be careful how i word things to him.

aspects of shunning
by stan livedeath inmany members on here have been shunned.
we know whats its like--and the effect it has had on our lives.
but what about those of us who practiced shunning before--when we were members of the watchtower cult ?.

going back over 50 years..my pal's older brother was d/f for adultery, we had to shun him, he seemed to stay out for years.
the brother that conducted studies with my mum and dad--and seperately with me--as a kid.....also had a study with a young married couple his own age.. long story short--he ended up shagging the wife, both fessed up and were d/f for it. husband divorced the wife. they were shunned--but after a year were reinstated and married.
i dont think shunning made a scrap of difference. the first mentioned chap was putting it around--and going to casinos--smoking--living the high life. no intention of going back--not till years later
the adulterous couple merely served their time and were reinstated and welcomed back with open arms.

how did it make you feel ? bad ? good ? superior ? more " spiritual"?
do you think it did any good ? did the shunned person return to the cult as a result ?
or did it drive them further away--or permanently ?
do you really think it serves any positive purpose ?

Disassociation and being young, experiences?
by Kohanic inok so im new here~ hey-yo!.
i found this site cause i've been looking around at experiences of people leaving 'the truth' as i've been wanting to leave for some time now.
it's interesting as y'know i'd never seen it from the other side as its apostate literature and all that jazz lol.

well--if thats where the watchtower growth is coming from---its fine with me. hallelujah !
i dont think the cult will die off--not with members like that...
...but i could well imagine a break away faction of the more intelligent--higher earners--wanting to distance themselves from that holy roller type of cult freakery.

drummer out of The Shadows who became a JW 'jazzed' up some of the songs, t
the only drummers i recall in The Shadows line up--wereTony Meehan and then Brian Bennett. i dont think either of them became dubs. i could be wrong of course.
Brian (liquorice ) Locking was one--and of course --Hank ( also a Brian ) Marvin. both were guitarists.
for those who have no idea who we are talking about--the Shadows were Cliff Richards' backing group originally.
